On Friday, American, Japanese, Indian, and Australian leaders pledged to open the Indo-Pacific region without any fear at their very 1st in-person meeting, which reflected a unity against concerns about Beijing.
The 2 hours long summit of quad leaders at the White House, as a crew of 4 dominant countries, will be observed in China, which slammed the group of four as ‘doomed to fail.’
In a joint statement after negotiations, Narendra Modi (Indian Prime Minister), Yoshihide Suga (Japanese Prime Minister), Scott Morrison (Australian Prime Minister), and Joe Biden (American Prime Minister) said that they stand for the rule of law, free of overflight and navigation, democratic values, peaceful resolution of disputes and territorial integrity of states.
But Beijing wasn’t cited in the open comments by the head of four countries or in an extensive combined declaration and a factsheet released later; China was visibly dominant in mind. Moreover, the combined statement showed frequent reference of the world leaders’ persistence on rules-based attitude in an area where Beijing has been struggling to boost its presence.

The combined statement described that together, they pledge to support open and free rules-based order, and are entrenched in international law to boost prosperity and security in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

All four leaders even stated backing for little island states, particularly those that located in the Pacific, to ramp up their environmental and economic resilience. Furthermore, the Quad leaders forced North Korea to link in diplomacy regarding its ballistic and nuclear weapons plans, which Pyongyang had rejected to act on until international sanctions are lifted.
The Quad leaders also supported to enlargement of vaccine programs all across the world, greeting the plan of India to reopen exports in the coming month. Besides this, after the summit, Yoshihide Suga (Japanese Prime Minister) described to the news reporters that the nations agreed to collaborate on an inoculation plan, space, clean energy, and to organize a combined summit every year.
