On Friday, Britain’s Healthcare and Medicines products Regulatory Agency decided to allow the Pfizer & BioNTech’s Coronavirus vaccine for twelve to fifteen years old. The decision came after similar approvals by the EU (European Union) and American regulators.
On Friday, Matt Hancock, British Health Secretary, greeted the news and described that he is going to wait for medical suggestions from the JCVI (Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization) about how the Coronavirus vaccine should be directed.
He further explained that the United Kingdom should have a sufficient amount of the Coronavirus vaccine to vaccinate the country’s youths.
At the same time on Friday, Rochelle Walensky (the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Director) stressed parents of youth in America to get their kids inoculated as quick as possible, after the announcement of a report by CDC depicting a surge in hospitalizations in twelve to seventeen years old during a phase (January to April) this year.
The report showed that 1/3 of those patients were severely affected people, and around 5% of those infected people had to be put on ventilators. Furthermore, she explained that the numbers disappointed her and displayed that even the country’s youth infections can get severely ill from the Coronavirus.

Besides this, on Thursday, Dr. Matshidiso Moeti (the regional director of the World Health Organization) described to news reporters that the risk of a 3rd wave of Coronavirus in Africa is rising, and it’s real.
Moeti explained that while several nations outside Africa have now inoculated their primary groups and, in several regions, are on to kids. Moreover, African countries are unable to get the 2nd vaccine dose for critical groups.

She continued and urged those countries that have held sufficient inoculation coverage to share COVID-19 vaccine doses and support highly susceptible African people to get out of this critical situation.
The health ministry of India said that it had purchased around three-hundred million vaccine doses of an unauthorized vaccine by paying two-hundred million dollars to be manufactured by Hyderabad-based Biological-E. And the COVID-19 is currently passing through phase three of its clinical trials.
