On Tuesday evening, the spokesperson of Congressman-elect Luke Letlow confirmed that Letlow has passed away after contracting Coronavirus.

Andrew Bautsch (Letlow’s spokesperson) wrote in a Facebook page (Republican congressman-elect page) post that Congressman-elect Letlow, 41, has passed away this evening at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport due to difficulties and complications from Coronavirus.

He described that Luke Letlow’s family appreciates many prayers and support in the past days but asks for privacy during this hard and unexpected time. Moreover, two Republicans even confirmed the death of Luke Letlow to a media outlet, CNN. Monroe’s News-Star was the 1st one to confirm Luke Letlow’s death.

Letlow confirmed his contraction of Coronavirus on Facebook Page

On the Facebook page, Luke Letlow had mentioned his contraction of COVID-19 on 18 December, saying that he was resting at home, obeying all CDC measures, quarantine protocols, and also the recommendation of his doctors.

After a few days, he posted that he was having various treatments at St. Francis Hospital ahead of the statement from his office on 23rd December said Luke Letlow had been moved to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Academic Medical Center.

The chancellor of LSU Health Shreveport, Doctor G.E. Ghali, described in a statement that at the time that Luke was in a stable situation in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and was acquiring the drug Remdesivir and steroids also included in the part of his treatment.

A Republican of Louisiana, Rep. Garret Graves, tweeted that Letlow is now with his creator, but his premature leaving from this world is a significant loss to Louisiana and the United States. The tweet continued that voters overwhelmingly picked Luke Letlow to represent them in Congress just weeks ago.

The tweet further says that people saw what so many of them know about Luke – smart, kind, quick-witted, hardworking, honest, God-fearing, and just a good person.

LaToya Cantrell (New Orleans Mayor) tweeted said, in a tweet, that they are heartbroken to know about the death of Congressman-elect Letlow. Furthermore, Luke Letlow was a young leader who loved Louisiana intensely, and their prayers go out to his loved ones and family.

John Kennedy (Louisiana GOP) showed his condolence to Letlow by tweeting that he was heartbroken by this news. He said that Luke has attended L.A. tirelessly and above that Luke was a loving father and husband. Plus, headdress people to join in praying for the Lute Letlow family during this tough time and incredible loss.
