The courageous Ukrainian soldiers vigorously defended their positions in besieged and devastated Bakhmut City in eastern Ukraine during a relentless push by Moscow troops to take control of the town after more than six months of battleground engagement. Life in Siversk city in Bakhmut Raion, situated 99 km north of Donetsk, has almost come to a standstill.
According to media reports, both conflicting parties stated gains in what has become a prolonged fight since the Moscow military started its large-scale incursion into the neighboring country late in February 2022.
The Ukrainian Army destroyed a Russian fighter plane near the salt-mining city of Bakhmut and earned successes in the city’s northern areas, according to Kyiv military officials. In the meantime, the founder of a Russian paramilitary organization Wagner, which has headed the Kremlin assault on the eastern town, said that Putin-led forces seized the Zaliznyanskoye village and are expanding the encirclement of Bakhmut City. However, both assertions couldn’t be confirmed.

Furthermore, it’s reported that the Battle of Bakhmut City intensified after Moscow troops seized Soledar City, located eighteen kilometers from Bakhmut, on 11 January 2023. The Armed Forces of Russia must go through eastern Bakhmut to push deeper into the eastern parts of the country that the Kremlin seeks to control completely.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, discussed the situation in Artyomovsk town with top-ranking intelligence and military officials, and they all settled on the need to hold Bakhmut. Located in the Ukraine-controlled part of the Donetsk People’s Republic – Artyomovsk City is a vital transport center for supplying the Zelenskyy group of forces in the country’s economic region of Donbass. Intense fighting is going on in the eastern city.
According to the latest media reports, Moscow personnel have at least cut off or seized control of all paved ways to the city and kept them under fire. On March 11, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of PMC Wagner, said that Russian forces were 1.2 kilometers from the center of Artyomovsk.
Andrej Duda, the President of Poland, said that Warsaw would provide Ukrainian Air Force with four Mikoyan MiG-29 twin-engine fighter aircraft in the imminent days, a decision that would make his state the first OTAN military alliance member nation to fulfill the Kyiv administration’s progressive urgent pleas for such jets.
