Ron DeSantis, the Governor of Florida and a likely GOP Presidential nominee for the 2024 Election, has described the Russo-Ukrainian war as a territorial disagreement and said it isn’t among America’s top National Interests.

The former American President and DeSantis, the commander-in-chief of the Florida state’s military forces, have said in response to a questionnaire by prime-time Fox News host Tucker Carlson that protecting Ukraine wasn’t the top U.S. national security interest, in a statement that would demoralize Ukrainians and encourage Russians to believe that everything is on their side.

According to media reports, the former military officer’s position – which reverberates that of Mr. Trump, who has announced a run for 2024 White House – underlines growing skepticism among GOPs of American backing for Ukrainians as it makes efforts to fend off Moscow’s brutal incursion.

As Russia’s unprovoked war enters its 385th day, while looking at the main developments, the highly tense situation was observed all over Ukraine, especially in the country’s eastern region. Furthermore, according to the Sumy Oblast’s military officials, Putin-led forces struck the communities of Seredyna-Buda, Shalyhyne, and Bilopilia in the region. No casualties were reported immediately; however, Moscow’s strikes damaged a house in the Seredyna-Buda community.

Russia Shot Down Three Missiles

On Tuesday, the Armed Forces of Russia also shelled Kherson areas; at least four people were wounded; two civilians and two State Emergency personnel, according to the country’s Southern Command. Pavlo Kyrylenko, the Governor of Donetsk Oblast, reported Wednesday that Russian troops attacked Kurakhove city in Pokrovsk Raion, cutting the power supply for more than a thousand households.

Moreover, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian forces conducted forty air strikes and a dozen missile launches in the past 24 hours. On the other hand, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the Governor of Belgorod Oblast – a Russian federal subject – claimed that Moscow’s Air Defense destroyed at least three missiles over the region late on Tuesday.

Mr. Gladkov said that he didn’t specify whether the missiles were Ukrainian in origin or Russian artillery that had veered off course. Belgorod Mayor Valentin Demidov said no casualties were recorded at the time. And according to the Governor of Kharkiv, the Kremlin troops hit the northeast city of Kharkiv early on Wednesday. However, he didn’t provide any details.
