President-elect Joe Biden, under a bright sky, said that the ‘democracy has prevailed’ during the inauguration ceremony that presented the formal handover of power at the United States Capitol, where recently pro-Trump followers attacked the building in the futile and violent behavior to overturn the election results.
In his speech, Joe Biden said that this is America’s day, this is democracy’s day. He continued that the United States has been tested anew, and it has risen to the challenge. Joe Biden took an oath with his hands on the Bible, which is a family Bible that he used to take office in the past. Moreover, John Roberts, Supreme Court Chief Justice, has administered the oath.

Joe Biden, in his initial speech as president, described that the United States “story depends not on any of us but on all of us, we the people.” President highlighted that the nation will press forward with urgency and speed. Furthermore, he pointed to the pandemic COVID-19, saying that it silently stalks their country and has confirmed above 400,000 American people since the start, faced the economic slump created by this novel coronavirus.
Biden even highlighted racial justice and described that the dream of “justice for all will be deferred no longer.” Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony comes just after two weeks of the US Capitol riot, which disturbed the whole country’s security.
