In the nearly two years since the lethal coronavirus started damaging the U.S., almost all aspects of the deadly pandemic have been debated, often harming efforts to bring the fatal disease under control and to treat its sufferers. Now, however, Congressional members are introducing steps toward a bipartisan struggle to undergo the origins of the coronavirus pandemic and to evaluate the response of the U.S. federal government.
A proposal being circulated by the two most senior members of the HELP (U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions) to create a commission of twelve members of private citizens with far-reaching authority to probe the disease’s origins and assess the former and current government’s response to it. The move appears to have extensive backing among the members of both sides.
Furthermore, a Democrat from Washington Patty Murray, Chair of the HELP Committee, and Richard Burr, the Committee’s Senior GOP, have modeled the determination on the commission that was formed to probe the September 11 attacks’ origin.
According to the media reports, that body won bilateral support for its in-depth assessment of the proceedings leading up to the attacks of 2001. That proposal is a part of the larger bill called ‘PREVENT Pandemics Act’ or ‘Prepare for and Respond to Existing Viruses, Emerging New Threats, and Pandemics Act.’
‘Marked By COVID’
Along with the formation of the Task Force, the proposed legislation would expand the capabilities of public health agencies to retort the outbreak of the fatal disease, lift innovative activities and fortify the supply chain for medical products and supplies.
Furthermore, the panel known as the “National Task Force on the Response of the U.S. to the COVID-19 Pandemic” is anticipated in the legislation and would’ve the authority to ask for an appearance in a court of law to produce evidence and the revelation of documents as required for the probe.

Several Congressional GOPs have thrown their support behind the theory that SARS-CoV-2 escaped from a laboratory in the people’s Republic of China, where the lethal virus was under study. This attitude is backed by the reality that there’s a foremost infectious disease study facility near Wuhan city, where the coronavirus was first identified in December 2019.
Overall, Democrats have been more disposed to support the opinion proposed by the U.N. health agency, which suggested that the coronavirus journeyed into humans through close interactions with wild animals, possibly bats, which were previously disease-ridden with a version of the virus.
