On Wednesday, the insurgent Taliban group exhibited lots of US-made armored vehicles and freshly held arms on victory celebrations in Kandahar.
In footage published on several social media platforms, the Taliban marched with the material left by both American and Afghan militaries after the evacuation of the recent American soldiers evacuated the country in the hand of the Taliban.
The militant group’s fighters grasped the Taliban flags in their hands from armored SUVs and Humvees during the celebration parade, where several of both militaries’ vehicles showed in perfect condition. Moreover, the militant group even directed an air exhibition with a previously detained Black Hawk helicopter flying on the road and also waving a Taliban flag.
The Taliban parade appears on the day after footage exhibited the Taliban making their way via an abandoned hanger at Kabul airport scattered with apparatus the American military left there.
In one of the videos, the militants dressed in American-style uniforms and grasping American-manufactured arms reviewed a CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter placed inside an abandoned hangar. Furthermore, the militants were even found giving poses for pictures while sitting in the helicopters’ cockpits that previously belonged to the Air Force of Afghanistan.

Taliban fighters can’t fly their aircraft – John Kirby
On Tuesday, John Kirby, Pentagon Press Secretary, described that he was not too concerned about these pictures of militant fighters examining the abandoned planes. Besides this, he explained that they can examine all they want, they can look at them, they can walk around them, but they cannot fly them, and they can’t even operate them.
Kirby continued that the American military had manufactured unusable all the apparatus that is at the airport, all the ground vehicles, all the aircraft. He said that the American military left only a few fire trucks and forklifts operational.
A source close to the situation described to a media agency, CNN, that struggles to resume the airport reopened on Wednesday as a crew of Qatari technical specialists appeared in the Afghan capital. Moreover, the source added that the technical crew moved to Kabul on a Qatari aircraft at the appeal of the Taliban. Discussions are still underway at the level of operation and security.
The source said that the objective is to reopen flights working at the Kabul airport for humanitarian help and liberty of movement in a secure and safe manner.
