An Afghan commander said that Danish Siddiqui, Reuters news reporter, has been murdered while reporting a conflict between the Taliban fighters and Afghan security forces close to the border crossing with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
On Friday, the official described to Reuters news company that Afghan forces had been battling to recapture a significant market spot of Spin Boldak when a senior Afghan office and journalist Danish Siddiqui were killed. They labeled it as ‘Taliban crossfire.’
The journalist Siddiqui had been rooted as a journalist since last week with the special forces of Afghanistan based in Kandahar. The reporter had been covering the clash between the Taliban fighters and Afghan commandos.

In a statement, Michael Friedenberg (Reuters President) and Alessandra Galloni (Editor-in-Chief) described that they are urgently finding more information, operating with authorities in the area.
They said Danish Siddiqui was an excellent journalist, a father and a devoted husband, and a much-loved colleague. They continued that their thoughts are with Danish’s family at this disastrous time.
