An Afghan commander said that Danish Siddiqui, Reuters news reporter, has been murdered while reporting a conflict between the Taliban fighters and Afghan security forces close to the border crossing with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
On Friday, the official described to Reuters news company that Afghan forces had been battling to recapture a significant market spot of Spin Boldak when a senior Afghan office and journalist Danish Siddiqui were killed. They labeled it as ‘Taliban crossfire.’

In a statement, Michael Friedenberg (Reuters President) and Alessandra Galloni (Editor-in-Chief) described that they are urgently finding more information, operating with authorities in the area.
They said Danish Siddiqui was an excellent journalist, a father and a devoted husband, and a much-loved colleague. They continued that their thoughts are with Danish’s family at this disastrous time.

Earlier on Friday, he described to Reuters he had been injured in the arm by weapon while covering the conflict between the Taliban fighters and Afghan special forces. Danish was treated had been recovering after the attackers from the Taliban side retreated from the skirmish in Spin Bodak.
The Afghan commander further described that Danish Siddiqui was negotiating with shopkeepers as the Taliban fighters assaulted again.
