Four administration officials described that the Pentagon is in the opening stages of deciding the potential withdrawal of Afghan residents who have worked for America that could make them vulnerable to Taliban as the United States military evacuates from the country.
The U.S. regulators stressed that an official request to make a contingency strategy that has not been created by the White House, but there is weighty stress on the administration from the outside groups and Capitol Hill to securely send back the Afghans ahead of American troops withdrawal.
April announcement of Joe Biden, President of America, stated that the United States would extract American troops by eleven September that has made doubt for many Afghan residents who endangered their lives to assist American military operating as translators and several other jobs since the inception of the battle in Afghanistan in 2001.
The Taliban increased violence against security forces
However, the United States officials have secretly described that American troop extraction could be done in the month of July, which mounts the urgency. The Taliban has ramped up the violence against Afghan civilians and security forces in the past few weeks. Moreover, those Afghan people who have been waiting for visas to go to America have also been murdered by the Taliban.
One of the fresh examples includes the Taliban cracked the head of the Afghan individual with an AK47, taken him into custody, and described to him that they had decided to murder him because he had helped and operated for the United States officials. The person had managed to escape just because of the Afghan national army. The army raided the spot where the person was imprisoned. The person told the whole incident to CNN, a news agency.
Removal is only one choice being evaluated, and the U.S. administration is also seeking to boost up the approval of visas. Furthermore, the State Department has explained that around eighteen thousand people who wanted special immigrant visas to America are still waiting for approvals.
It’s just not an easy step to perform that action because it is a time-consuming procedure. Plus, there are severe concerns over completing the special immigrant visa process before the American troops’ withdrawal.
In April, the State Department data reviewed by CNN that described granting visas is a tough and lengthy procedure, in the past years, the processing of each granted applicant has consumed above five hundred days.
