American border agents held around 100,000 people at the US-Mexico border in Feb, said two resources familiar with preliminary figures, and it marked the biggest total arrest in February since 2006.
The numbers, which haven’t been previously confirmed, depict the scope of an emerging number of migrants coming at the southwest border when American President Joe Biden struggles to revert some of the restrictive rules of Donald Trump (former Republican President of U.S.).
An increasing number of children coming at the border without a legal guardian or a parent has forced American officials in the previous weeks to seek residence options and take the initiative to increase the speed of the process for their release in the U.S.
In February, around 100,000 migrants were caught at the US-Mexico border, which is a notable surge of over 78,000 encountered in Jan. Moreover, the persons who gave the information to a media company, Reuters, described on the condition of anonymity.

On Friday, the dominant Republican in the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, pushed a letter to President Joe Biden that appealed a summit to negotiate the issue, saying that he had great concern with the Joe Biden administration’s handling of the border issue.
In a letter, McCarthy wrote that they must acknowledge the border issue, make a plan, and, in no unclear terms, robustly discourage people from Central America and Mexico from ever creating the difficult journey to their southern border.
