On Wednesday and early Thursday, Democrats have revealed concerns over Joe Biden’s (the President-elect) list for probable contenders for attorney general that includes Justice Merrick Garland (a judge on highly consequential United States Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit).
Merrick Garland is a highly valued justice who was previously cited to the United States Supreme Court by Barack Obama (the former President of America) in 2016 ahead of the presidential race, but the Senate rejected to follow Obama’s nomination.
Garland’s qualifications regarding attorney general were praised by those persons on the left, but some of them concerned it wouldn’t be a clever approach to make vacancy on DC Circuit with the robust chance the Republicans can keep the majority in the Senate. Moreover, another body on the attorney general chooses seen as a top choice is Senator Doug Jones.
In a tweet, a former Hillary Clinton aide, Charlotte Clymer, said that Doug Jones, for the love of all that is good, just select Doug Jones and go with it.
Doug Jones. For the love of all that’s good, just pick Doug Jones and be done with it.

Joy Reid (MSNBC host) even made clear her opposition to Merrick Garland choice, speculating that Mitch McConnell (Senate Majority Leader) would avoid Joe Biden from covering the judge spot. She described that selecting Garland for AG would mean permitting Moscow Mitch to hold a D.C. Circuit place hostage for 4 years. Furthermore, Republicans explained they would do same with any SCOTUS openings, for 4 complete years, in case if Hillary Clinton became the President.
Mitch McConnell has cleared that filing federal judicial posts has been the first choice of his during the President Trump administration because justices are selected to the whole life terms. At the same time, other legislative actions couldn’t be done by elections.
McConnell, at a Federalist Society function in 2019, said that the 1st thing that arrives into her mind, these types of chances don’t come along that often, as you have the White House, the Senate and the House.
McConnell continued that for those persons who are not Americans history junkies, you all can go back hundred years and his party’s only handled all three for 20 of the hundred years, one-fifth the time. He added that they don’t want any time here and of the things that they can do, and what is most important? He concluded by saying that obviously the Supreme Court and the courts.
