In South Florida, Dr. Eliot Gdofsky didn’t even have a solo dose of remdesivir for his Coronavirus patients. On the other hand, in North Carolina, hundreds of miles away, Dr. Cameron Wolfe has plenty of doses he doesn’t even need right now.
As some areas in the US see coronavirus surges and others see declining numbers, there’s no mechanism for hospitals to shift remdesivir — the only drug authorized by the FDA to treat Covid-19 — where it’s needed most. https://t.co/nq4dGWGlAO

Dr. Cameron Wolfe would like to deliver some of his remdesivir with other doctors, such as Godofsky, assumed that it is the only medicine approved by the United States Food & Drug Administration to cure COVID-19.
As we know, Coronavirus makes its path across the U.S., with plunges in some regions and deficiency in number in other places, that’s why there is no way for hospitals to supply the medicine where it is required the most.
The federal govt. is overseeing the delivery of remdesivir medicine, and Godofsky, Wolfe, and many other physicians describe the system requires an overhaul.
Godofsky explains he felt being handcuffed while not being able to serve his COVID-19 patients in Florida, Bradenton, remdesivir, a medicine which was founded very helpful to speed up the recovery process against Coronavirus, additionally it even decreases the possibility of patients’ risk of dying.
Doctors feel terrible over shortage of remdesivir
Godofsky, a specialist for infectious diseases, said that it has been frustrating. He added that Coronavirus patients suffer, and we just feel terrible.
Besides this, a Duke University Medical Center’s infectious disease specialist, Wolfe, said that this is nuts, and it has been very disturbing to watch.
On Friday, a spokesman for the United States Department of Health &Human Services said to a media outlet, CNN, that in the upcoming week, distributions of remdesivir to states will emphasize place with significant recent surges.
He added and disclosed quantities to be delivered to 4 hotspot states, Texas, Florida, Arizona, and California, that are smaller than the quantity of hospitalized Covid-19 patients in those states. He continued that the firm hired to allot remdesivir will reach out to any hospital that got the medicine to assure that it still requires it.
According to the spokesperson, the department is dedicated to the equitable and efficient supply of medicine with the purpose of reaching as many Coronavirus patients as possible all across the United States’ territories.
