In Arlington, Virginia, at a transit station near the Pentagon, a policeman was purportedly killed and sent the defense headquarters of the country and its around twenty-seven thousand workers into a lockdown for an hour.
Officials described to the AP (Associated Press) that a policeman was injured and killed. Moreover, another media firm, CNN, even confirmed that a police officer had been killed. But Woodrow Kusse (Chief of Pentagon Force Protection Agency) didn’t confirm the assassination reports in a Tuesday afternoon press conference.
Associated Press said that a suspect was shot and killed by the state police at the location. According to the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, the Pentagon complex, one of the largest structures in the world, was faced lockdown for an hour following shots were purportedly fired on Tuesday morning at the Pentagon Transit Center (a train and bus station that facilitates the Pentagon).
It’s still an active crime spot
The Pentagon agency described that the shooting location was cleared of dangers around seventy-five minutes as the Pentagon facility was closed but warned the people to avoid the location as it was still an active crime spot.

The PEPA further said that the lockdown was relaxed just after noon, albeit some of the Metro stations and walkways remained shut down. Furthermore, the magnitude and nature of the event were still ambiguous, albeit EMS and Arlington Fire explained that the units responded to many patients.

The Pentagon is the dominant hub for American defense, and it attains around twenty-seven thousand civilians and military members in Arlington. And the agency has also been under target for attacks before.
John Patrick Bedell, in 2010, had injured and shot two security officers at the Metro entrance of the Pentagon agency ahead of being killed himself. At the time of the 9/11 attack, an aircraft was hijacked and directed towards the west part of the structure that killed 125.
