An Indian actress has taken into custody due to the allegation of drug offenses in the recent progress of an ongoing star saga that has transfixed Indian people and highlighted headlines in the previous months.

On Tuesday, Rhea Chakraborty was taken into custody by Narcotics Control Bureau of India for accused of buying cannabis drug for Sushant Singh Rajput (her boyfriend), one of the dominant faces in Bollywood, said Mutha Ashok Jain, the deputy director of the NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) for southwest India.
An American media company, CNN, came into contact with the lawyer of Chakraborty for comment. In June, at the age of 34, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in Mumbai in his flat, which was recognized as a suicide by the Indian police. Moreover, Indian authorities have directed a post-mortem but didn’t make an official and accurate statement on the conclusion.

Rajput’s father alleged Chakraborty for stealing money
After few days of the death of popular actor, his father, Mr. K.K Singh, submitted a police complaint in Bihar, an Indian state where he lives, alleging Rhea Chakraborty (Bollywood star with lesser fame) of stealing amount from the bank account of her boyfriend and abetting alleged suicide. Furthermore, Indian authorities didn’t provide details on how Chakraborty have accused of abetted Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide.
But on the other side, Rhea Chakraborty denied all those allegations made by Rajput’s father. She described to a media company, CNN, that it’s really very sad that it is 2020, and she still has to pay this price today just because she was in his life, and she loved him and lived with him.
The court document says that Rhea Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput lived together, though Chakraborty returned into her Mumbai residence a few days before his death.
In August month, a case was transferred to the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) based on the allegation of Sushant’s father, a federal law implementation agency, which described to a media firm on Wednesday that it doesn’t give any statement on the active investigations.
Besides this, Indian authorities have taken into custody ten people linked to the case, including Rhea Chakraborty, according to NCB’s Jain.
Jain said that Rhea Chakraborty has been incarcerated for fourteen days due to the allegation of consuming and purchasing drugs like cannabis. Jain added that the authorities didn’t find any drugs from Rhea Chakraborty, who confessed buying drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput.
