The White House described that America has provisionally postponed all American-bound air flights of Afghan people who want to flee the country because of infectious viral disease among Afghan people who just entered America.
On Friday, Jen Psaki (the White House Press Secretary) described to news reporters that the suspension was ordered by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) ‘out an abundance of caution.’
Psaki explained that 4 Afghan persons who had tested positive for measles in America that are now isolated to protect other people from getting the infectious disease.
The AP (Associated Press) said that the deferral affects the evacuees’ flights from American bases in Qatar and Germany. Prior to Friday, the United States said that another thirty-two American inhabitants or legal permanent people fled Afghanistan through assistance from America.
Emily Horne (National Security Council spokeswoman) described that nineteen had been evacuated via a Qatar Airways flight and thirteen by other flights. Moreover, it was 2nd withdrawal flight permitted by the Taliban leaders since the American military departure from Afghanistan.
America provides safe and clear options to flee
On Friday, in a statement, Emily Horne said that today’s exoduses show how they are giving American people safe and clear options to evacuate Afghanistan from various locations.
Jalina Porter (a State Debarment spokesperson) explained that America provided seats to evacuate forty-four American citizens on Friday’s flight, but not everyone opts to fly. Furthermore, she examined that around a hundred US people remain in the country.
In Afghanistan, Taliban officials permitted the opening Qatari charter flight to evacuate the Afghanistan airport on Thursday, which marked the 1st migrant flight to go out since America closed its twenty years-long military missions in Afghanistan on 31st August.
On Thursday, in a statement, Emily Horne explained that the new rulers of Afghanistan had proved very cooperative in facilitating the evacuation of American people and legal permanent inhabitants on charter Qatari flights from the country’s capital’s airport. She continued that they have created a very flexible atmosphere, and they have been professional and businesslike in their efforts. And this is an optimistic first action from their side.
