The Russian President Vladimir Putin states there is no need to mobilize new rounds for the battlefield as Ukraine has suffered catastrophic upsets in its counter-offensive. Putin added he could order his military to seize more land in Ukraine to protect the Russian territory and its border. During his appearance in an open meeting with military journalists and bloggers, the Russian leader made his first detailed talk about the war in months. His remarks came after Kyiv officials claimed they had captured some of their lands back in the early stages of the counterstrike.
President Putin said Ukraine had suffered a significant loss after it started a new assault wave and lost 160 tanks and around 360 other armored vehicles in heavy fighting. He claimed the Russian military only lost 54 tanks since Kyiv started its counterstrike, although those claims could not be confirmed yet. Putin made remarks on continuous shelling and increasing attacks on Russian border regions and said his armies would take steps to counter Ukrainian attacks. If Kyiv’s military refuses to stop, Moscow would think to establish a sanitary zone in Ukraine to prevent its lands from strikes.
Raids and drone attacks on Kremlin border areas are continuously rising, and Moscow repeatedly blamed Kyiv’s armies for those raids. Local Leaders in Russia have urged Moscow to take measures to protect their residents from attacks, and some residents have been evacuated to safer areas. President Putin said there is no need for additional mobilization of their men and artillery in Ukraine for now, but he said more troops call-ups would depend upon what Kremlin wants to achieve there, and there is no such need yet.

Zelenskyy Started Counter-offensive on June 4
Last year, approximately 300,000 Russian reservists were called up in Ukraine, but Putin called it a “partial mobilization.” Some people said they needed one or two million, but Putin responded that it depended on their goals. The Russian leader added there was no need to follow Ukraine and declare martial law and no need for any particular kind of regime in the Kremlin.
Ukraine prepared for months for its counter-offensive, grabbed massive support from allied nations, and ultimately started the long-awaited strike on June 4. Moscow’s President said the counter-offensive was unsuccessful in any area and that Kyiv had suffered massive losses ten times bigger than the Kremlin. Putin talked hours after Russian forces claimed they had captured Western armored vehicles from Ukrainian troops on the battlefield and Kremlin’s deadly missiles hit the hometown of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy.
On Tuesday, Zelenskyy declared an advance in his areas, especially in the long-besieged city of Bakhmut in the east and the war’s southwest. He further thanked everyone for fighting and advancing to take the lands back. Ukraine’s Zelenskyy praised the units on the southern front and acknowledged their progress despite the occupiers’ advantage in aviation and artillery. He expressed gratitude towards the soldiers for each step and meter gained in freeing the territory from Russian control.
