Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy was on his visit to France, and he got pledges for military aid to fight against Russian Forces. He will receive Tanks and armored vehicles from Paris to strengthen his armies. Before going to Paris, he was on a surprise visit to Germany and secured $3 billion as military aid. France vowed to send Ukraine dozens of armored vehicles and small tanks. Ukrainian soldiers will also get training from French armies to use all the supplied equipment effectively.

The military aid commitment came after Zelenskyy visited Paris on Saturday and joined French President Macron at a working dinner at Elysee Palace in Paris. After three hours of talk on Monday, a joint statement came from both countries’s leaders. The issued statement says in the following weeks, French armies will train multiple Kyiv battalions for armored vehicles and light tanks, including AMX-10RC. It is also said Paris would take steps to strengthen Ukrainian air defense to counter Moscow’s air strikes. Kyiv and Berlin have agreed on the need to increase the collective pressure on the Kremlin through sanctions to stop it from continuing its aggression of war.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy was on a weekend tour to Key European ally nations, including Paris. The tour aimed to collect support for Ukraine’s upcoming counteroffensive against Russian forces, both financially and militarily. Zelenskyy secured a military package worth $3 billion from Germany and addressed in Berlin on Sunday and said Kyiv, through allies, would defeat Putin’s armies, and the damage would be irreversible.

Zelenskyy Gathering Support to Defeat Russia

According to the statement by the French President, it was reassured that Paris would support Ukraine Politically, militarily, and financially as long as needed. It is also reported that France will support Ukraine with an advanced defense system. Paris said that Kyiv has been expanding its defensive and offensive capabilities through Zelensky’s every visit to its allies. French AMX-10RCs, which Ukraine will get, have high speed and maneuverability, allowing it to quickly move and change positions in Battleground. Kyiv’s defense minister called it a sniper on a high speed.

The new package announced by Germany will include 30 Leopard 1 A5 tanks, 200 reconnaissance drones, and 20 Marder armored personnel carriers. This military support package will add much to the Ukrainian armies in planning for a bigger counter-offensive. The package of $3bn will also include anti-aircraft systems with ammunition. On Saturday, German Defense Minister Boris Poisture said that Berlin seriously supports Ukraine in strengthening its armies. He said Germany will provide all the support it can, and as long as it takes.

At first, Germany was a slow aid provider to Ukraine, but it has become Kyiv’s largest military aid donor. Berlin sent substantial military aid earlier, including tanks, air defense, and ammunition. Kyiv recently received German-made Leopard 1 and 2 model tanks, which helped Ukraine much on the battlefield. The new military aid package from Berlin also includes the following:

  • 18 self-propelled howitzers.
  • 200 reconnaissance drones.
  • Four IRIS-T SLM anti-aircraft systems.
  • Other air defense equipment.

President Zelenskyy said Ukraine will always be thankful to Germany for supporting Kyiv. At the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, Germany faced much criticism for not openly helping Ukraine, but current facts say Berlin has donated the most till now. Zelenskyy said German tanks, artillery, defense systems, and infantry had saved many Ukrainian lives.
