On Friday, the Joe Biden administration restored the flag honoring missing war veterans on the top of the White House as Donald Trump (his predecessor) made some veterans angry by shifting it to a less prominent place last year.
In 2020, former President Donald Trump shifted the significant position of the POW-MIA flag (which was dedicated to service members and war prisoners missing in action) from the top of the White House to a location on the South Lawn.
Lawmakers urged President Biden to restore the flag position
A bunch of bipartisan legislatures has been urging President Joe Biden to restore the prominent position of the flag to the top of the White House.
On Friday, in a statement, Maggie Hassan (Democratic Senator) said that it’s a powerful way to continually remember and pay tribute to the great sacrifice of war prisoners and missing service members.

The POW-MIA flag, a white and black flag, reads ‘You are not forgotten,’ and shows a person under the guard tower looking down at the barbed wire fence. Besides this, around 82,000 United States service members are still mentioned as missing from disputes dating back to World War II.
The Bidens proud to be reviving the position
The White House official stated that the president (Joe Biden) and the first lady (Jill Biden) are proud to be doing this. The official added that they moved forward in making sure that the POW-MIA flag went up.
