Keith Raniere, Nxivm company’s founder, has been punished for 120 years in jail. In Brooklyn federal court, Nicholas Garaufis (United States district judge) read the sentence, when above a dozen people provided victim impact declarations at his hearing.

In his decision, Nicholas Garaufis said that the crimes Keith Raniere was condemned for are ‘perverse, cruel and extremely serious.’ Moreover, Nicholas judge added that despite everything that has occurred and despite the uncountable number of victims who have raised voice to their great pain, Keith Raniere was not removed, but he maintained his innocence. Garaufis said that the brave victims who have faced abuse provided by his hands, including those 2 who spoke today, are liars.

Seth DuCharme, the Acting U.S. Attorney for Eastern District of New York, said that Mr. Raniere won’t be able to victimize someone anymore after today’s punishment, and they are very thankful for that. He continued that it struck him in listening to the victims that Mr. Raniere really turned people’s trust and their requirement to get some meaning and hope in their lives in just the most devious and insidious ways.

John Marzulli, the fifteen Mr. Raniere’s victims, had statements that read at his hearing in Brooklyn federal court, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Eastern New York, described.

There was also a fifteen years old girl victim at the center of the sexual abuse of a kid charge that Mr. Raniere was condemned of. Moreover, a copy of her crime also posted to the court record in which the girl described she was fifteen, and the person was forty-five years old as they started to have sex, even he took her nude photographs.

The statement of her victim impact reads that while he secreted their sexual relationship from other people, he described it to her by telling her that she was much mature for her age. The girl even said that she knows now that it was a lie, and she was a child. Besides this, she described that he used her innocence to do whatever he wanted with her, not just sexually but also psychologically.
